A bonded warehouse is a warehouse for intermediate storage of untaxed and uncleared goods. It is also exempt from foreign trade policy measures. Such warehouses are officially sealed by the customs, in other words, they are licensed and supervised by the customs authorities. A bonded warehouse is defined mainly by the process, rather than by the physical location, and so the term ‘bonded warehouse process’ is also used.
